The village of Heritage masterplan was designed as a traditional neighborhood development based on vernacular Utah Pioneer architecture and planning principles. This 400 acre mixed-use community was purposely designed to capture the natural beauty of its surrounding mountain ranges from strategic vantage points. A sustainable street network was designed to promote continuity between the smaller neighborhoods within Heritage and the existing Cedar City. Heritage boasts a mix of traditional housing types to accommodate socio-economic diversity. Beyond its dense blocks of bungalows, townhomes, and houses (over 3200 housing units in total), Heritage includes 40 acres of retail and office space, 100 acres of parks and open space, a community center, school, places of worship, post office, recreation center, horse stables, and nursery. The goal of the master plan was to create a sustainable, prosperous and social place for people to live, work, learn, and play.
